DALIA after two Years - Project Meeting in Aachen 2024

After two years of working on the project, the DALIA team met on December 18 and 19 in Aachen to discuss the project progress, the results of the past year, and the next steps. This year, participants included project members from the University and State Library (ULB) and the Institute for Fluid Systems Engineering (FST) at TU Darmstadt the University Medical Center Göttingen, the Academy of Sciences and Literature Mainz, the TIB – Leibniz Information Centre for Science and Technology - and the University Library Hannover, as well as the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry and the IT Center of RWTH Aachen University. Members of the DALIA Advisory Board were also present. The event was hosted by the IT Center of RWTH Aachen University and took place in the university’s facilities.

On Wednesday, the first day of the meeting, the focus was on presenting the results of the past year. The individual working groups showcased their progress, the key outcomes, and steps that will follow. Additionally, updates regarding the project website and DALIA’s social media presence were presented. The user benefits of combining DALIA with the learning objective matrix (LOM) were also highlighted. After an interactive test of the usability of the DALIA search portal, the day was concluded with a group dinner in Aachen's old town and a visit to the Christmas market.

The second day of the meeting focused primarily on critically evaluating the current project status and planning the necessary next steps. Essential decisions regarding the project’s progress were made and presented. An interactive session was held to discuss and prioritize the current and future requirements. The meeting concluded with an overview of key aspects regarding the future of DALIA.
