In this working field, the server infrastructure for the knowledge base will be developed and provided. Providing and creating the server infrastructure for the knowledge base is the aim of working field IV. First and foremost is the development of an infrastructure that offers access to the graph database based on standards via a backend system. This allows enriching metadata of educational resources in DALIA and interconnection with other platforms through existing and newly developed interfaces.
To store the knowledge base, a RDF-compatible graph database must be operated. It is important to evaluate which current technologies are suitable for such a use case. One example of a current technology that can be used for knowledge graphs and has standardised interfaces (SPARQL) is Virtuoso, which is used by platforms such as DBpedia and Coscine. If none of these solutions meets the requirements, a software solution must be created.
